Serenity Fitness together with Bear Necessities of Strength are excited to offer reformer Pilates classes and a combination of the Pilates mat and the Pilates reformer, to give you the best of both pieces of Pilates kit in quick 30-50 minutes sessions. In addition to cardio reformer where we add the jump board to the reformer and yoga-reform-ilates where we perform a yoga inspired flow on the Pilates reformer.

What is Pilates?
Pilates, or 'Contrology' as it was previously known, allows you to have control over your body, it helps to strengthen your body’s core by improving pelvic stability, abdominal control and focuses on your breathing patterns. It improves your flexibility, muscle tone, balance, spinal support and awareness.
Pilates is a full body workout suitable for all focused on body alignment, breathing and centring (core).
It may look easy, but do not be fooled its whole body approach will see you feeling the burn without breaking a sweat - especially when the reformer jump boards come out.
Who is Pilates perfect for?
Pilates is perfect for absolutely everyone - beginners and advanced, injury free and with injury, fit and less so, and bendy and inflexible.
Our Align C2-Pro RC Pilates reformers are suitable for users 4’10”-6’4″ and up to 150kg.
Everybody is welcome to our classes.
What happens in a Pilates class?
Just like in a fitness class there will be a warm up (preparation phase), workout (main phase) and then a cool down (closing phase).
Our Pilates classes look to use body weight and a variety of equipment to challenge the body, from Pilates Circle, balls and balance pads either on the mat or on the Pilate reformer.
We will make sure that your whole body is challenged to improve strength, stability, balance and flexibility in all areas.

Are you already physically active but feel weak in the core? We will challenge your whole body.

Pilates Memberships
What is a reformer Pilates class?
Reformer Pilates is simply Pilates performed on a piece of apparatus called the Pilates reformer. Reformer Pilates is generally more intense and more dynamic than mat based Pilates due to the resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the reformer springs.
30-50 minute classes capped at 5 participants.
What is a combination class?
We will perform Pilates for half of the class time on the reformer and the other half on the mat. You'll perform a similar workout, while experiences the feel of both the mat and reformer.
Our Pilates combo classes allow you to enjoy the best of both key pieces of Pilates kit: the reformer and the mat.
50 minute classes capped at 10 participants (5 on the mat and 5 on the reformer at one time.)
Do I have to attend the 'Pilates Reformer Introduction' workshop?
Regardless of your reformer Pilates experience you will be required to attend a 'Reformer Introduction' workshop before participating in any reformer or combination class.
This workshop is to introduce you to the quirks of the reformer, perform a mini workout and, more importantly, allow the Reformer Pilates Instructor to know more about you and your body.
