PILATES REFORMERS ARE HERE IN NORTH SHIELDS - BOOK YOUR FIRST CLASS TODAY
The timetable is being amended with changes to our Pilates classes with the arrival of five Pilates reformers, the addition of reformer classes and mat and reformer combo classes. But first of all you are asked to attend the Introduction to Reformer class first.
Why this Introduction to the Reformer is necessary?
Let me take you back to my first class & what I learned while training to be a Reformer Pilates Instructor.
I spent my first class not having a clue what I was doing & kept watching what others were doing. I found it so difficult to concentrate I even had to ask the instructor to turn the music down!
I didn't understand what the instructor meant when they said "change from a red to blue spring", "foot on platform extender", "hands in loops".... & I certainly didn't know how to get on the reformer properly or how to get my feet in straps.
Over the years I gathered the basics, but it wasn't until training to be an instructor that I learnt how to get on the reformer gracefully, how to get my feet in straps without the onset of cramp or put my body in various precarious positions & that you put on the spring you need before you take off the spring you don't need. I also learnt I have hyper mobile elbows - who knew?! 🤔 I hadn't, yet I had experienced elbow pain performing certain moves. I never realised I was losing tension by going into milk stool position every time I returned the carriage (all will be revealed when you attend the Introduction to Reformer class)
The Introduction class is a one-off class that provides you the opportunity to try the new piece of kit and more importantly for the Head Instructor to learn about you, your body and how you move. Every body is different. Having this valuable & insightful information will enable the instructor to tailor future group classes towards attendees. After attending the Introduction Class (a PT if you like) you can attend group classes.
